Baker Labels has been crowned Essex Employer of the Year at the 2020 Essex Business Awards
In an online ceremony hosted by the Colchester Gazette we were confirmed as winners in the Employer of the Year category over other finalists VerriBerri and Home Instead Senior Care, Basildon. After one of the most challenging years for business as an employer, this award feels like a huge reward for the effort, energy and attention we have given.
With almost 100 employees, people are Bakers’ greatest assets and we invest a great deal in the growth and development both professionally and personally to ensure we have motivated, skilled, loyal employees. Over the years we have spent millions of pounds investing in some of the best, high tech presses, equipment and machinery at Bakers. All this equipment requires regular maintenance and care to run at peak condition but none of that matters if the staff running the presses are not motivated, qualified or interested in doing so. Therefore maintenance and care of our employees wellbeing is key to successful production. Positive, motivated and engaged staff are always much more productive and at the end of the day, production is what we do so it makes perfect business sense to look after our staff
We are a UK leading trade label manufacturer, producing and supplying self-adhesive labels on behalf of other printers, designers and print management companies around the UK from our state of the art production and office facilities in Brentwood. Since moving to Brentwood from Walthamstow in 2011, Baker Labels has seen a rapid growth in turnover, production and employee numbers. Further and continual investment in new presses and expanding our premises in Brentwood have consolidated the growth and allowed us to expand into the production of digital flexible packaging in 2020. It is an exciting time at Bakers and being recognised as Essex Employer of the Year is the icing on the cake.
