Fortieth Anniversary Event

This year the Brentwood Half Marathon & Fun Run is celebrated its 40^th year, having raised an approximate total of £3.75 million in that time. Baker Labels’ athlete ID division Sportstiks, has been title sponsor of the local event since 2018. The sponsorship includes supporting the organising committee in the planning and promotion of the event while also producing and supplying a range of required printed products. Baker Labels has a longstanding history of involvement with the community event, supplying race bibs through Sportstiks and entering teams of runners in both the 5k and half marathon since 2014.

New Organising Team for 2022

Along with the Rotary Club of Brentwood a Becket; Sportstiks, Brentwood Theatre, Saint Francis Hospice and Brentwood Running Club are all now part of the new organising team. This new network of organisers will ensure this event can carry on supporting Brentwood charities and its people for years to come. The Brentwood a Becket Rotarians have been responsible for the event since it started in 1983. This new team, aided by Brentwood Borough Council, allowed the local organisations and clubs to collaborate using their range of expertise. With the support of the team, over 2000 runners crossed the finish line and the day was a huge success. Unfortunately, the 2021 event was unable to go ahead due to social distancing rules. This meant runners were keen to take part this year, with entrants from across the country.

Baker Labels, once again assembled a large team of its employees and their families to run in both the half marathon and fun run. They also provided volunteers for finish line marshalling and water distribution.

Award winning place to work

Baker Labels won the Essex Active Workplace of the Year award in 2021 due to the importance that the company places on its staff wellbeing, especially their physical and mental health. They are also Brentwood’s Employers of the Year 2021 with staff often encouraged to take part in charity work.

The Brentwood Half Marathon & Fun Run has always been a charity event with millions of pounds being raised over the past 39 years. Sportstiks has been able to maximise the amount of money from entry fees that can be donated to charity, by providing many key elements and covering costs.

Sportstiks and Baker Labels use their printing knowledge to provide personalised race bibs as well as temporary tattoos and banners. Our marketing team also manages the event’s promotion and organises the pacers, event t-shirts and finishers’ medals. Due to the recent humanitarian crisis in the Ukraine, Sportstiks also provided Ukraine flag tattoos so runners could show their support for the country on the day.
