2024 in Review: A Year of Bold Moves, Big Wins, and Baker Magic

Investing in Growth (and Making Room for It)
We’ve been busy wrapping up our two-year, £5 million investment plan – and by “busy,” we mean knee-deep in new equipment and factory upgrades. BakPac, our flexible packaging division, had a particularly big year:
• Two new HP Indigo 200K presses (because one just wasn’t enough).
• Two extra Galaxy pouch converters, so our pouch game is now officially next level.
• A brand-new factory space, because, frankly, we ran out of room.
Meanwhile, over in our labels division, we became the UK’s first proud owners of the Durst Tau RSC 340 LED. Translation? Faster, smarter, and all-around cooler label printing.
HP Open House: The Event of the Year
In October, we opened our doors to over 100 print and packaging pros from around the world. They came, they saw, and yes, they were wowed by our HP Indigo 200K. Between live demos, panel talks, and some serious networking, the buzz was electric. (Would it have been even better if we’d had both 200k presses installed by then? Maybe. But hindsight, as they say, is 20/20.)
Sustainability Meets Style
Wellness, Team Spirit, and the Great Outdoors
• Laughter yoga (yes, it’s a thing, and yes, it’s exactly as hilarious as it sounds).
• Meditation and breathing sessions (for when the laughter yoga got too real).
• Quiz nights, game nights, and an Olympic-themed sports day, where things got *way* more competitive than expected.
Oh, and let’s not forget the 27-mile hike from Eastbourne to Brighton. The team powered through – with a mix of grit, determination, and maybe a bit of grumbling. But hey, those post-hike smiles made it all worth it. It is safe say our in-house gym earned its keep this year.

Bakers Foundation: Heart, Hustle, and Half a Million
As proud sponsors of the Brentwood Half Marathon, we cheered on our Bakers runners (some a little faster than others) and volunteers, all while raising vital funds for our community.
In recognition of our efforts for charities and in the community we were awarded the Essex Business Award for Charity and Community.
2025: Bring It On
From all of us here at Bakers we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here’s to an even bigger, better and brighter 2025!
